Cohere AI Updates: October 30, 2026

1. Cohere Announces Series E Targeting Up to CAD $7 Billion and Plans Cohere Cyber via AISLE Acquisition

Cohere co-founders Aidan Gomez, Nick Frosst and Ivan Zhang announced the initial close of a Series E targeting up to CAD $7 billion, led by Schwarz Group. NVIDIA, Bell Ventures, Inovia Capital, Prosperity7 Ventures, Bullhound Capital and the Government of Canada also participate. Cohere calls it the largest round ever raised by a private Canadian company. Cohere also plans to acquire AISLE and build Cohere Cyber, a vulnerability discovery and remediation system that runs on-premises or air-gapped. Cohere says AISLE’s system found 18 of the 24 vulnerabilities fixed in curl’s October release. For the next 12 months, Cohere plans to complete its combination with Aleph Alpha, launch Cohere Cyber for classified environments, release its next model generation and begin frontier-scale training with allied partners. The post argues that democracies need more frontier AI builders. It notes that Chinese models served over 70% of open-model tokens on OpenRouter earlier in 2026, up from about 3% fourteen months before. Source

2. Cohere Publishes a Deployable Financial Research Assistant Recipe on AWS

Cohere published a reference build of a research assistant that answers questions over financial filings. Every claim cites a source page and says whether the evidence came from a table, chart, body text, footnote or figure. The pipeline uses Cohere Parse on table-heavy or scanned pages and Embed Pro for 1,024-dimension int8 vectors in Amazon OpenSearch Serverless. Rerank keeps the best 5 of 30 candidates and uses its Context Focus feature to pull the relevant passages from each page. Claude on Amazon Bedrock then writes the cited answer. The Cohere models run as SageMaker AI real-time endpoints from AWS Marketplace. The code lives in aws-samples/Cohere-on-AWS under rag-recipes/financial-research-assistant, and a single CloudFormation template deploys it. The demo indexes 928 pages of fiscal 2024 annual reports from Bank of America, Morgan Stanley and Wells Fargo. It includes a setting that tears down the GPU endpoints while keeping the data and index. Source
