Vercel AI Updates: October 30, 2026

1. Mistral Large 4 Gets Updated Weights and Lower Prices on AI Gateway

Vercel said Mistral Large 4 on AI Gateway now serves Mistral’s updated weights at lower prices for input, cached input and output tokens. Citing Mistral’s release, Vercel says the update improves agentic coding and defensive cybersecurity work, uses fewer tokens on coding tasks, and is better at spreadsheet creation and editing, web research and resisting prompt injection. The existing mistral/mistral-large-4 model ID picks up the new weights and pricing with no code change, and the model can be selected in fx, Pi, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and other harnesses after running the Vercel CLI setup. 2. Vercel Firewall Splits AI Crawlers From AI Assistants

Vercel updated the AI Bots managed ruleset in Vercel Firewall so AI crawlers (bots that collect content for indexing and model training) and AI assistants (bots that fetch pages in response to a user’s request or search) can be logged or blocked separately. A site can, for example, block training crawlers while still letting assistants retrieve pages to answer users’ questions. Vercel maintains the bot lists as new bots appear. The setting lives under Security > Firewall > Rules > Bot Management and can also be changed from the CLI, with vercel firewall diff and vercel firewall publish to review and apply changes. The ruleset is available on all plans. Source

3. Vercel Plugin Lands in the Google Antigravity Marketplace

Vercel published the Vercel Plugin to the Google Antigravity marketplace, giving Antigravity agents guidance on Vercel APIs and recommended patterns through skills for the AI SDK, Vercel Functions and Workflow. Vercel’s demo shows an Antigravity agent using the plugin to build and deploy a Python backend with Vercel Sandbox. The plugin is installed from Customizations > Marketplace in the Antigravity app. Source

4. Strix AI Pentesting Tool Can Now Use AI Gateway Models

Vercel said Strix, the open-source AI penetration testing tool, can now run on any of the 400+ models on AI Gateway, including models from Anthropic, OpenAI, Kimi, GLM and DeepSeek through one API with no markup, with usage and cost tracked in one place. Users select the gateway through the STRIX_LLM setting, using the standard <provider>/<model> ID behind a vercel_ai_gateway/ prefix. Source
