Pydantic AI v2.55.0 adds a unified cache setting and Caching capability for cross-provider prompt caching, per-conversation cache health reporting, a Conversation object that carries state between runs, an OpenAIDecisionsModel backend, Postgres-backed step and media stores, and support for claude-haiku-5-5. The release roughly halves import pydantic_ai time by loading the MCP module lazily and expands realtime voice support for Azure AI Voice Live and GPT-Live. It now requires Python 3.11 or newer, and FallbackModel records each failed attempt with model, timing, error, and usage. Source
