Vercel AI Updates: October 10, 2026

1. Agents Can Buy Domains Through the Vercel CLI

Vercel. The Vercel CLI now supports an agent-driven domain workflow using vercel domains search, vercel domains check, vercel domains price, and vercel domains buy, along with an agent-facing skill that covers the full sequence. Agents cannot complete a purchase on their own: a non-interactive vercel domains buy returns a structured error with suggested next commands, and the user confirms price, auto-renew, and registrant details in an interactive terminal or the dashboard. 2. Microsoft Decision-1 Available on AI Gateway

Vercel. AI Gateway now offers Microsoft Decision-1 (microsoft/microsoft-decision-1), a decision model that answers typed Boolean, Choice, and Score questions about text and returns probabilities for each option. It can be called through the AI SDK decision API, an OpenAI-compatible Decisions API, or a TypeSafe-compatible API using only an AI Gateway key, with no separate Azure deployment, and calls count toward Gateway budgets. 3. Liquid AI’s d1 Decision Model Added to AI Gateway

Vercel. Liquid AI’s d1 (liquid/d1) is now available on AI Gateway as a decision model for classification, routing, and scoring that returns structured answers with probabilities and generates no text tokens. It supports vision input for visual classification and inspection, and it is accessible through the same AI SDK, OpenAI-compatible, and TypeSafe-compatible decision APIs. Source

4. Vercel Sandbox Creation Now Waits Until the Sandbox Is Ready

Vercel. Sandbox.create() now resolves only after snapshot restoration completes, so the first command or file operation no longer absorbs that startup cost, and startup failures reject create() directly. Creation takes about 50 ms longer at p50 while total time to the first operation is unchanged, and the change applies automatically with no SDK upgrade required. Source

5. Rillet Triples Shipping Rate With AI Agents on Vercel

Vercel. Vercel published a case study on Rillet, an AI-native ERP platform, which builds internal agents with Vercel’s open-source eve framework, connects them to Slack and Linear through Vercel Connect, and routes model calls through AI Gateway. Rillet reports tripling its shipping rate over three months and a two-person frontend team closing more than 800 Linear tickets in four months. Source
