Vercel AI Updates: October 3, 2026

1. AI SDK for Python Ships With Experimental Jev Support

Vercel. A post by Yury Selivanov accompanies the release of the AI SDK for Python, which includes experimental support for TypeSafe AI’s Jev decision model. Developers install it with uv add ai, supply an AI Gateway API key, and load the model with ai.get_model("typesafe-ai/jev"). The integration centers on a single evaluate() function that accepts ChoiceQuestion, ScoreQuestion, and NoulQuestion types and returns structured JSON with confidence scores. In the author’s tests, Jev handled classifying Python code versus English text, while an attempt to generate Python through AST construction needed help from a separate LLM and produced syntactically valid but mostly incorrect output. The company runs more than 73,000 deployments per month and operates six production AI agents covering tasks from churn analysis to deal desk work. During production incidents, agent swarms built on the AI SDK handle triage and resolution without manual intervention. Source
