1. Microsoft Execution Containers Reach General Availability for AI Agents
Microsoft. Microsoft made Microsoft Execution Containers (MXC) generally available, along with Windows 365 support, four months after its Build preview. MXC gives agents a single JSON policy schema and multi-language SDK over several isolation backends: process containers (AppContainer on Windows, Seatbelt on macOS, Bubblewrap on Linux), Windows 11 session containers under a separate account, WSL containers, and experimental MicroVMs. GitHub Copilot, OpenAI Codex, OpenClaw, Replit, LM Studio and Unsloth already support it, NVIDIA has integrated OpenShell, and Anthropic Claude Code, Perplexity, Manus and others have announced support; Intune policy management and Agent 365/Entra controls for local agents are listed as coming soon. The SDK, schema and samples are at github.com/microsoft/mxc. Source
