1. GitHub Copilot Gains Computer Use for Desktop Apps

Microsoft. GitHub Copilot CLI and the GitHub Copilot app on macOS and Windows can now operate desktop applications in public preview, clicking controls, typing, scrolling, and moving between apps to automate workflows in software that has no API or command line. Copilot asks for approval before acting, macOS users are walked through Accessibility and Screen Recording permissions, and organization admins can disable the feature through managed settings. It is enabled with /computer on in the CLI or under Settings > Computer Use in the app. Source

2. Copilot Dynamic Workflows Let Developers Orchestrate Multi-Agent Work in Code

Microsoft. GitHub introduced dynamic workflows in public preview across Copilot CLI, the GitHub Copilot app, and the Copilot SDK, available on all Copilot plans. Workflows are orchestrations defined in code that can run commands, call external tools, parallelize independent tasks, pass structured data between stages, pause at checkpoints for user review, and coordinate verification across multiple agents. They work out of the box in the Copilot app, while the CLI requires the --experimental flag or /experimental on. Source

3. MAI-Voice-2.1 and MAI-Voice-2.1-Flash Arrive in Microsoft Foundry

Microsoft. Microsoft AI’s MAI-Voice-2.1 and MAI-Voice-2.1-Flash text-to-speech models are in public preview on Azure Speech in Microsoft Foundry, covering 23 languages with prebuilt voices and gated instant voice cloning from a consented 5 to 60 second reference clip. The standard model targets long-form narration with speaker consistency, while Flash is tuned for low-latency voice agents, IVR, and call-center flows. Both use the existing Speech SDK, cognitiveservices/v1 endpoint, and SSML with a model suffix such as en-US-Harper:MAI-Voice-2.1-Flash, are served from 14 regions, and support emotion control through mstts:express-as styles.
