AWS AI Updates: June 26, 2026
1. OpenAI GPT and NVIDIA Nemotron Models on Bedrock Reach FedRAMP High and DoD IL-4/5 in GovCloud
AWS announced that the OpenAI GPT, OpenAI GPT OSS, and NVIDIA Nemotron model families on Amazon Bedrock have received FedRAMP High and DoD CC SRG Impact Level 4 and 5 authorizations in AWS GovCloud (US). Federal agencies, public sector organizations, and other enterprises with these compliance requirements can now build and scale generative AI applications on Bedrock using these models, served through Mantle, a distributed inference engine that provides serverless inference without operator access, automated capacity management, and native compatibility with the OpenAI API specification. The authorization extends regulated and classified-adjacent workloads to frontier and open-weight models without requiring teams to manage their own accredited infrastructure. Source
2. Kiro Agentic IDE Achieves FedRAMP High and DoD IL-4/5 Authorization in GovCloud
AWS said Kiro, its agentic AI development tool with an integrated IDE and CLI, has earned FedRAMP High and DoD CC SRG Impact Level 4 and 5 authorization in AWS GovCloud (US). Kiro supports spec-driven development, turning prompts into comprehensive specifications, functional code, documentation, and test suites, and offers native Model Context Protocol support for connecting to enterprise documentation systems, databases, and APIs. The certifications let federal agencies, public sector organizations, and other regulated enterprises adopt Kiro for mission-critical development workflows that previously could not use cloud-hosted AI coding assistants under these compliance regimes.
