AWS AI Updates: April 25, 2026

1. Bedrock AgentCore Gateway and Identity Add VPC Egress

AWS. Bedrock AgentCore Gateway and Identity now support VPC egress in both managed and self-managed flavors, letting agents invoke private resources like EKS-hosted MCP servers and authenticate against private identity providers without leaving the customer VPC. Managed VPC egress covers most setups, while complex topologies can plug in customer-configured VPC Lattice resources, with private DNS resolution and the ability to validate inbound tokens from a private IdP plus fetch outbound tokens. The capability is available in fourteen regions including Virginia, Ohio, Oregon, Mumbai, Tokyo, Frankfurt, and Stockholm. Source

2. Amazon Connect Adds Eight New Metrics for AI Agent Performance

AWS. Connect’s AI Agent Performance dashboard gained eight new evaluation metrics including goal success rate, faithfulness score for hallucination detection, and tool selection accuracy, plus thumbs-up/thumbs-down customer feedback capture. The metrics target the perennial gap in production agentic deployments — measuring whether the bot actually resolved the request and used tools correctly, rather than only call duration and deflection rate. The numbers are accessible via the dashboard, the GetMetricDataV2 API, and a zero-ETL data lake for custom analytics. Source

3. Amazon Quick Integrates Visier’s Vee Agent via MCP for Workforce Intelligence

AWS. Amazon Quick now connects to Visier’s Vee people-analytics AI assistant through the Model Context Protocol, letting HR, finance, and ops users ask natural-language questions about headcount, attrition, tenure, and open requisitions inside Quick without context-switching to Visier. Quick routes relevant prompts to Vee and blends the answer with enterprise context held in Quick Spaces — budgets, policies, plans — and Vee can also be triggered from automated Quick Flows for recurring reports. The integration is one of the early examples of remote MCP servers being treated as first-class data sources by an AWS-native generative BI tool. Source
