1. xAI Reportedly in Three-Way Partnership Talks With Mistral and Cursor

Mistral. Reports surfaced that xAI has been in recent discussions with Mistral and AI code-editing startup Cursor about a potential three-way partnership aimed at challenging Anthropic and OpenAI in coding and agent tools, originally reported by Business Insider. Some structural ties are already in place: Mistral co-founder Devendra Chaplot joined xAI last month to lead pretraining, and Cursor has started training models on xAI’s Colossus supercomputer in Memphis.
