Vercel AI Updates: April 25, 2026
1. GPT-5.5 and GPT-5.5 Pro Land on the Vercel AI Gateway
Vercel. Vercel added OpenAI’s newly released GPT-5.5 and GPT-5.5 Pro to the AI Gateway, callable via the AI SDK as openai/gpt-5.5 and openai/gpt-5.5-pro. The standard variant is positioned for long-horizon agentic coding and computer-use workflows that hold context across a large codebase, while the Pro variant targets multi-step business, legal, and technical research tasks where response quality outweighs latency. As with all Gateway models, unified billing, BYOK, observability, retries, and failover come included. Source
2. DeepSeek V4 Pro and V4 Flash Available on Vercel AI Gateway With 1M-Token Context
Vercel. Vercel added DeepSeek V4 to the AI Gateway in two variants — deepseek/deepseek-v4-pro and deepseek/deepseek-v4-flash — both shipping with a 1M-token context window by default. V4 Pro targets agentic coding, formal mathematical reasoning, and long-horizon workflows with tool use across MCP and agent harnesses, while V4 Flash trades parameter count for lower latency and API cost on high-volume workloads. The launch landed the same day Hugging Face published its own DeepSeek V4 deep dive. Source
3. Vercel Breach Investigation Surfaces Additional Compromised Accounts
Vercel. Vercel disclosed that further investigation of its Context-AI-linked breach found additional customer accounts compromised, plus a separate set of accounts with prior compromise unrelated to this incident. The engineering team, working with Mandiant, Microsoft, GitHub, npm, and Socket, confirmed no Vercel-published npm packages were tainted. Affected customers have been notified directly, and Vercel is publishing rolling updates as forensic work continues. Source
