1. Anthropic Launches Claude for Financial Advisors With Custodian, Portfolio, and CRM Connectors

Anthropic released Claude for Financial Advisors, a set of connectors and workflow skills for wealth management. New connectors include Addepar, BlackRock (via Advisor Center), CAIS, Charles Schwab custodial data, Envestnet, FactSet, Franklin Templeton, iCapital, Invesco, J.P. Morgan Asset Management (55ip), MSCI, Orion, Vanguard, Zocks, and others. A single plugin bundles the advisor skills with connectors for BlackRock, Charles Schwab, Addepar, Envestnet, iCapital, Orion, Wealthbox, Wealth.com, and Zocks. Its skills cover advisor onboarding, alternative investments briefs, compliance and AI policy, estate and tax briefs, portfolio rebalance review, post-meeting notes and follow-up, pre-meeting prep, and prospect intake. The compliance skill screens client-facing language against the SEC Marketing Rule, and actions such as CRM updates and client communications are staged for advisor approval. The skills are also published in a repository that firms can adapt. Source

2. Anthropic Expands GSA Agreement With a 40% Government Discount Across All Claude Products

Anthropic signed a new agreement with the U.S. General Services Administration that gives government buyers a 40% discount on Claude Enterprise, Claude for Government, and the Claude API. The discount applies to direct purchases now and to purchases through cloud providers in the coming months, and it extends to state, local, tribal, and territorial governments. Anthropic estimates the discounts will save the government $1 billion, and agencies have no minimum spend commitment. Anthropic also announced a program to help agencies implement Claude. It says about 500 U.S. government organizations use Claude and that weekly Claude for Government active users are up about eightfold since February. Agencies can buy at the OneGov discount through GSA’s Multiple Award Schedule. Source

3. Anthropic Reports Early Results From Drug Development Partnerships Using Claude

Anthropic published an update on research partnerships with six drug developers: BigHat Biosciences, Bristol Myers Squibb, Divergence Labs, Enveda, Generate Biomedicines, and The Column Group, along with partner technical reports and preprints. Examples include Generate Biomedicines scientists using Claude Code to design a CAR T-cell therapy component about 70% shorter than the standard version that performed better in lab tests, and Claude generating roughly 35,000 antibody designs for Divergence Labs’ food allergy program in about a month, largely autonomously. Anthropic also started its own drug discovery programs, including work on rare childhood forms of muscular dystrophy. The company notes the work is mostly preclinical and says it plans to extend Claude’s role into clinical trials. Source

4. Anthropic Study Finds Analysts Followed Their AI Agent’s Lean 86% of the Time

Anthropic published an alignment study on whether experts keep control of judgment calls when working with an agent. Professional analysts trained in causal inference completed a statistical analysis with Claude Code, and on each of four analytical choices the agent was secretly assigned, by coin flip, to argue for one of two reasonable options. Analysts chose the agent’s option 86% of the time, against an expected 50% if the agent had no influence. When analysts had stated a preference first, they switched away from it 60% of the time if the agent disagreed, versus 6% if it agreed. Afterward, 77% used the agent’s arguments to explain their choices but only 15% credited the agent. The authors note the agents’ preferences were strengthened on purpose, so real-world effects may be smaller. Source
