Commercial Agent Tools: October 28, 2026
1. Sectr Deploys Agents as Serverless Services That Scale to Zero While Waiting for Approval
Sectr. Sectr launched on Hacker News on October 27 as a backend-as-a-service for deploying AI agents. sectr deploy builds an agent in the cloud and returns an AG-UI endpoint that frontends such as CopilotKit can connect to, and sectr dev runs a local server with the same sessions, approvals and streaming plus a test chat UI. Every token, tool call and event is streamed and persisted so conversations survive a page refresh and can be replayed. When a tool needs human approval, the agent suspends and scales to zero, then resumes from its saved state; approval policies are set at the platform level rather than in agent code. Adapters cover the OpenAI Agents SDK, LangGraph and Pydantic AI with two added lines of code, and any container that implements Sectr’s HTTP endpoint can be deployed. Pricing: free during the beta, with no paid plans published. Source
2. StoreRouter Offers Agents One Search API and CLI Across Thousands of Online Stores
StoreRouter. StoreRouter, posted to Show HN on October 27, is a single search and browse interface to product catalogs from thousands of ecommerce stores, aimed at shopping agents and personal assistants. Instead of waiting for retailers to adopt agentic commerce protocols, it parses store pages into structured products and converts free-form queries into facets such as color or frame material. Endpoints cover product parsing, search, similar products and brand lookups, and are available through a REST API, an npm CLI, an MCP server, and Python and TypeScript SDKs. The founders cite a p90 search latency of about 3 seconds. The site runs a WASM build of the CLI as a browser playground. Pricing: usage-based, at $2 per 1,000 lookup and parse requests and $14 per 1,000 search requests, billed only for successful responses, with $5 of free credit per organization each month. Source
