LangChain AI Updates: October 27, 2026
1. Deep Agents Code 0.2.2 Ships Security Hardening and GPT-6.1 Terra Support
LangChain released Deep Agents Code 0.2.2 and recommends upgrading soon because of its security and performance changes. Project .env files can no longer set extension, shell, plugin or skill trust. Links opened from the terminal UI are limited to HTTP and HTTPS, and Git options on Auto mode’s read-only fast path are limited to an allowlist. The local server no longer uploads usage metadata to LangSmith. New features include GPT-6.1 Terra support, bringing selected text into the chat input, and notifications when plugin updates are available. Startup is faster because imports are deferred and the server starts earlier, forked subagents reuse the parent’s local context, and streaming re-renders Markdown only when blocks change. Source
