Open Source Agent Tools: October 25, 2026
1. Zephium 1.0.3 Ships as a Rust Browser With a Canvas Where Agents Work in Plain Sight
Zephium. Zephium published 1.0.3, its first full public release, on October 24 for Apple Silicon macOS and Windows. The browser is written in Rust on the system web engine (WebKit on macOS, WebView2 on Windows) rather than as a Chromium or Firefox fork, and it blocks ads natively and supports Chrome extensions. Its “Work” mode is a canvas where parallel helper agents browse live pages, lay out results such as tables and plans, edit granted folders, run commands, hand coding jobs to Claude Code or Codex, and connect to MCP servers. Actions that post, merge or change things wait for user approval, and users can bring their own keys, run local models through Ollama or LM Studio, or buy hosted Zephium AI credits. Licensed MPL-2.0. 2. Enzyme 0.13 Adds Hybrid Search to Its Agent-Facing Index for Markdown Wikis
Enzyme. Enzyme builds a local index of Markdown notes, such as Obsidian vaults or agent memory, from their existing folders, tags, links and dates, so Claude Code, Codex and other agents can pull up and cite related notes. Indexing samples excerpts over time and generates questions (“catalysts”) about decisions and open threads, and an installed skill tells the agent when to use Enzyme versus plain search. Version 0.13.0 (October 23) combines BM25 keyword ranking with semantic similarity, cutting median search time on a vault of about 5,600 notes from roughly 1 s to 63 ms. Version 0.13.1 (October 24) adds frontmatter title and link matching and scales to hundreds of thousands of documents. Licensed Apache-2.0. Source
3. Bellman Uses MCP Rooms to Let Agents From Different Providers Collaborate
Bellman. Bellman lets one agent session open a “room” and share a role-bearing join code that agents in other sessions, including other providers’ clients, use to join over MCP. Members exchange messages, artifacts, action requests and progress events through tools such as bellman_send and bellman_sync, and peer content stays wrapped as untrusted all the way to the model. An /a2a endpoint serves agents that speak A2A v1.0 or v0.3 instead of MCP. Versions 0.5.0 and 0.6.0 both shipped October 24, adding room search, canvas frames and a read-only bellman doctor that checks a local Claude Code setup. The code is MIT-licensed, and the hosted bellman.sh service gates room creation behind entitlements. Source
4. Whyline Runs Claude Code, Codex, Grok and Antigravity Through a Review-Gated Delivery Pipeline
Whyline. Whyline takes an idea through scoring, a multi-agent brainstorm, a reviewed specification and plan, and then implementation, testing, review and verification before an approved commit, leaving releases to a human. Users can assign different agents and models to each role, with fallbacks when a provider is down or out of quota. It records the reasoning and rejected alternatives behind each change in Git so the next agent can read them. It uses agent CLIs that are already installed and signed in, so it needs no API keys of its own. Version 0.3.51 shipped October 24 alongside its Show HN post. Licensed Apache-2.0, with no hosted account or telemetry. Source
5. wasi-python Packs CPython and the Scientific Stack Into a WebAssembly Sandbox for Agent Code
wasi-python. wasi-python is CPython 3.15 compiled to a single static WebAssembly binary (wasm32-wasip1), with numpy, pandas, scipy, scikit-learn, statsmodels, matplotlib and more than forty other packages built in. It is meant for running agent-generated or otherwise untrusted code server-side, and by default the sandbox cannot see host files or reach the network. It installs with pip install wasi-python (about 250 MB unpacked), and the same binary loads into any WebAssembly host that supports exception handling. Version 0.1.0 shipped October 23, and the project was posted to Show HN on October 24. Licensed Apache-2.0. Source
6. Loböle Is a Parametric CAD App Whose Every Command Agents Can Drive Over MCP
Loböle. Loböle, posted to Show HN on October 24 after its 0.1.4 release on October 23, is a parametric B-Rep CAD application built on OpenCASCADE with a Vulkan viewport. It supports sketches, assemblies, drawings, FEM and CAM. The GUI, a Python SDK, JSON-RPC and an MCP server all go through one command layer, so an agent can do anything a user can do in the GUI, and a terminal panel runs an agent inside the window. The README gallery shows a diesel engine, a watch and a bicycle generated by Claude writing scripts against it. Linux comes first, with Windows builds available. Licensed AGPL-3.0. Source
7. Latch Exposes a Site’s Search, Cart and Forms as WebMCP Tools With One Script Tag
Latch. Latch, posted to Show HN on October 24, is a dependency-free script of about 6 KB. Added before </body>, it registers a site’s search box, add-to-cart controls, contact or booking forms and main navigation as four WebMCP tools that AI browser agents can call. It needs no backend or MCP server and does nothing in browsers without WebMCP. The script is MIT-licensed and free. The free tier includes opt-in analytics with 14 days of history, and a Pro plan at EUR 19 per month per project adds 90-day history and a breakdown by agent. Source
