LangChain AI Updates: October 9, 2026
1. LangChain Published Restock, a Sample Agent That Pays for Real Orders via Stripe’s Link
LangChain. LangChain released Restock, an open-source office-supply agent that runs in Slack on Managed Deep Agents and pays for orders using Stripe’s Link wallet and the Machine Payments Protocol (MPP), with Zinc handling product search and retailer orders. The merchant answers with 402 Payment Required, the user reviews the cart and fees in a Slack interrupt that model-generated tool calls cannot approve, and then approves the exact amount on Link. Payment secrets stay out of the model’s context: the Link session lives in a user-owned MDA Connection, the Link CLI runs in the managed sandbox, and the shared payment token is deleted after use. The sample at langchain-samples/restock-agent supports rehearsal, Link-test, and live modes, and is limited to US delivery in USD. Source
2. Snyk Moved Its LangGraph Support Agent From Internal Tool to Core Product
LangChain. LangChain detailed how Snyk built Snyk Assist as a single LangGraph agent, using LangChain middleware for context management, guardrails, and model fallbacks, and LangSmith for tracing, evaluations, and CI gating. The same runtime ran as an internal support tool for about a year, launched to customers in the support portal in April 2026, and moved into the core Snyk product on September 1, 2026. Tools are attached per request based on the signed-in user’s permissions, and conversation state is stored in PostgreSQL. Snyk reports more than 60,000 queries across 500+ accounts, with over 85% of sessions resolved without a support ticket. Source
