Microsoft AI Updates: September 27, 2026
1. GitHub Copilot Added Opus 5.5, GPT-6 Sol and Luna, Grok 4.7, and Local Agent Sandboxing
Microsoft. GitHub’s weekly Copilot release added four models: Claude Opus 5.5 and GPT-6 Sol for Pro+, Max, Business, and Enterprise plans, and GPT-6 Luna and Grok 4.7 for Pro and above. The Copilot app gained local sandboxing in public preview that limits agents’ access to files, networks, and credentials, plus OpenTelemetry tracing of agent activity through enterprise-managed settings. JetBrains picked up assisted approvals for agent sessions and message editing with automatic file rollback, while VS Code 1.139 can run remote agents in Dev Containers over SSH, Tunnel, and WSL. 2. Copilot in Slack and Teams Now Reads Files and Thread History and Checks for Duplicate Issues
Microsoft. GitHub Copilot for Slack and Microsoft Teams can now use Slack files, attachments, and message links, and Teams inline images, forwarded messages, and channel history, as context for tasks. It checks for existing issues before filing new ones, lets users switch models mid-conversation with the choice persisting for the thread, and handles long-running tasks, interruptions, and reconnection more predictably. The update is in public preview for Copilot Business and Enterprise and counts against existing cloud agent budgets. Source
