1. Google and the UN Put Global Statistics Behind an MCP Endpoint

Google and the UN system launched the UN System Data Commons, an open-source platform built on Data Commons that merges statistics from across UN agencies into a single AI-ready knowledge graph covering themes including health, education, water access, electricity, and life expectancy. Alongside natural language search, the platform exposes open standards including the Model Context Protocol, so agents can fetch and synthesize the underlying data into reports and visualizations without scraping agency PDFs. 2. Google Labs Turned CC From a Personal Agent Into a Household One

Google Labs expanded CC, its experimental briefing agent, into a shared agent for families of up to six members. CC runs from its own Google account and each member chooses individually what to share with it, such as mail from a school, a swim center, or a vet, which it sorts into a shared daily brief and reflects into Calendar and Tasks. The experiment stays limited to web and mobile for US personal Google accounts aged 18 and over, with upgrade emails going to existing users and a waitlist for everyone else. Source
