AWS AI Updates: July 22, 2026

1. Amazon RDS For SQL Server Adds SQL Server 2025 With Built-In AI Integration

AWS. Amazon RDS for SQL Server now supports Microsoft SQL Server 2025 across Enterprise, Standard, and Developer editions, bringing AI integration directly into the database engine. The release lets applications invoke external REST endpoints from T-SQL without additional middleware, so existing database workloads can securely call Amazon Bedrock, Amazon SageMaker, Amazon S3, and AWS Lambda for scenarios such as an AI-powered query advisor and automated performance analysis, and it adds a native vector data type for storing and querying embeddings. Standard Edition also gains the Resource Governor and now scales to 32 cores and 256 GB of buffer pool memory, letting teams run retrieval and inference-adjacent logic closer to their relational data. 2. AWS Partner Central AI Agents Expand Funding Guidance To All Programs

AWS. AWS Partner Central’s generative AI agents now cover every AWS Partner funding program, adding the Strategic Collaboration Agreement (SCA) and AWS Growth Initiative (AGI) to the four programs supported since the March 2026 launch. The agents validate eligibility against opportunity and partner data, review uploaded documentation against program requirements, and draft fund requests with auto-populated fields, returning documentation-backed answers in seconds instead of manual lookups. They are available across all commercial AWS Regions through AWS Partner Central, reducing eligibility errors and manual data entry for partners managing funding applications. Source
