1. Pollen Robotics Releases Grabette, an Open System for Recording Robot Manipulation Data

Hugging Face. Pollen Robotics, part of Hugging Face, released Grabette, an open, low-cost handheld gripper (around 490 euros) fitted with cameras and sensors that records human manipulation demonstrations and converts them into robot-ready datasets through browser-based processing. A companion motorized gripper called Gripette (around 120 euros) lets robots replay the learned behaviors, and captured demonstrations can be published to the Hugging Face Hub. The project targets the data bottleneck in robot learning, arguing the constraint is real-world manipulation data rather than models, and aims to let anyone contribute without expensive robotics hardware.
