Cursor AI Updates: June 24, 2026

1. Cursor Unveils Self-Trained Model, Origin Git Platform, and Mobile App

Cursor. Cursor announced it is training its own coding model, built from scratch rather than fine-tuned from open weights, with a release expected within the next few weeks and roughly ten to twenty times the compute of its previous models. Alongside the model, Cursor introduced Origin, a Git hosting platform that automatically works through merge conflicts, failed CI tests, and review comments, with broad availability planned for the fall. It also released Cursor Mobile as an iOS beta for managing remote agents, troubleshooting tasks, and reviewing screenshots away from the desktop. Source

2. Cursor 3.9 Adds a Centralized Customize Page

Cursor. Cursor released version 3.9 with a new Customize page that brings plugins, skills, MCPs, subagents, rules, commands, and hooks into one place, manageable at the user, team, or workspace level. The release adds a marketplace leaderboard surfacing the most popular extensions across a team for one-click installation, plus prebuilt plugin canvases such as Hex Canvas for data visualization and Atlassian Canvas for project management. Team marketplaces now also support importing plugin repositories from GitLab, BitBucket, and Azure DevOps. Source
