1. AWS Adds AI-Powered Root-Cause Investigations to Cost Anomaly Detection

AWS. Cost Anomaly Detection now uses Amazon Q to investigate the root cause of a detected cost anomaly and return a plain-language explanation in minutes rather than the hours manual analysis typically takes. The feature correlates cost data with AWS CloudTrail events and resource activity to determine whether a change is usage-driven or rate-driven, identify the contributing services, accounts, and regions, and for usage-driven changes attribute the spike to specific API calls and IAM principals, with follow-up questions supported for deeper exploration. It is available in all commercial AWS Regions at no additional charge for the investigation itself, though cross-account investigations against an organization-wide CloudTrail trail sent to CloudWatch Logs may incur standard Logs Insights charges. 2. Amazon Connect Surfaces AI Agent Reasoning Traces for Self-Service Voice

AWS. Amazon Connect now provides AI agent traces for self-service voice interactions, giving teams visibility into how its Customer AI Agents reason, act, and respond during each conversation. The traces appear directly in the Connect web interface alongside the conversation transcript, letting builders diagnose issues such as reasoning errors, incorrect tool-call parameters, or response timeouts without external tooling. 3. AWS Transform Brings AI-Powered Cost Assessment to RDS for SQL Server Migrations

AWS. AWS Transform now offers total cost of ownership assessment for migrating on-premises SQL Server databases to Amazon RDS for SQL Server, using AI-powered agents to analyze the source environment and produce database instance recommendations. An AI-powered what-if analysis lets teams compare multiple cost scenarios with custom assumptions for region, resource utilization, and pricing terms, while the tool factors in Bring Your Own Media and License Included options, Database Savings Plans of up to 20 percent versus On-Demand, and Migration Acceleration Program eligibility. It accepts RVTools exports, CMDB exports, AWS Transform discovery tool outputs, and third-party discovery data, and is available across all regions where AWS Transform operates. Source

4. AWS Application Migration Service Becomes AWS Transform MGN Under Agentic Migration Service

AWS. AWS renamed Application Migration Service to AWS Transform MGN to position it as the underlying replication engine for AWS Transform, the company’s agentic migration service. Customers can use the direct console experience or an agentic workflow in which an agent handles discovery, wave planning, landing zone setup, network creation, and rehosting or containerization on their behalf to accelerate migrations. AWS Transform MGN retains all prior compliance certifications including FedRAMP High, HIPAA, PCI DSS, ISO, and SOC 1/2/3, and is available in all commercial regions and both GovCloud (US) Regions.
