1. Cursor Adds Realtime Voice Calls With Its Agents, Running on xAI’s Grok Voice

Cursor shipped voice chat on November 6, a two-way realtime call with an agent that works in the Agents Window, the IDE, on the web and in Cursor for iOS. A voice agent listens and replies while handing coding work to the agent in the chat, so a developer can keep talking during a run: ask what changed in a diff, check progress, search earlier messages and calls with that agent, or switch between workers in a Project. The coding agent reads out short progress notes and a brief summary when it finishes instead of the full written reply. The feature runs on Grok Voice with a choice of voices (Ara, Eve, Leo, Rex, Sal and others), runs with zero data retention when Privacy Mode is on, and on iOS can be started with “Hey Siri, call Cursor” and controlled from a Lock Screen Live Activity. It is separate from dictation (previously called Voice Mode), which still turns speech into chat text. Source
