1. CloudWatch Omni Puts Agent Traces and Application Telemetry in the Same Console

AWS. CloudWatch Omni reached general availability as an AI-first reorganization of CloudWatch around teams and the applications they run, combining OpenTelemetry interoperability with CloudWatch’s backend. Spaces in a central account pull telemetry across AWS accounts, Regions, and Azure workloads, with automatic service discovery and dependency mapping, and natural language queries routed through the AWS DevOps Agent. The agent observability side supports LangGraph, CrewAI, OpenAI Agents SDK, Vercel AI SDK, and Strands, scoring every prompt, model call, and tool invocation, and there is a free VS Code, Cursor, and Kiro extension that works locally without an AWS account. 2. Claude Opus 5.5 Is Available Through Both Bedrock and Claude Platform on AWS

AWS. Anthropic’s Opus 5.5 landed on AWS the day it launched, through two separate paths. Amazon Bedrock offers it with zero data retention on by default, regional data residency, Guardrails, and Knowledge Bases. Claude Platform on AWS exposes Anthropic’s native APIs and console through the AWS Console instead, unified with AWS billing and authentication, which matters for teams that want Anthropic’s own feature surface without a second vendor relationship. 3. GPT-6 Sol and Luna Hit General Availability on Bedrock With 1M Context

AWS. Bedrock added GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna alongside Astra, both supporting up to 1M tokens of context. AWS positions Sol as the daily driver for recurring complex work and software development, citing an internal OpenAI factuality evaluation where it makes roughly half as many mistakes as GPT-5.6 Sol. Luna targets high-volume extraction, summarization, classification, and routing with adjustable reasoning effort per request. Source

4. GovCloud (US) Got Opus 5.5 on the Same Day as Commercial Regions

AWS. AWS GovCloud (US) picked up Claude Opus 5.5 through Bedrock with zero data retention by default, without the usual lag behind commercial Regions. Anthropic’s claim carried in the announcement is that Opus 5.5 completes tasks in fewer tokens than Opus 5 at a lower price per token, with cheaper cache reads compounding the saving. Source

5. Security Hub AI Inventory Now Discovers Models Running on Azure VMs

AWS. Security Hub AI Inventory extended its self-hosted discovery past AWS to Microsoft Azure virtual machines. It leans on Amazon Inspector’s SBOM analysis, now enhanced to recognize inference endpoints, models, and agents from frameworks including Ollama, vLLM, and Hugging Face TGI. Discovered assets map to their underlying infrastructure and correlate with security findings, and the capability is included in Security Hub Essentials at no extra cost in all commercial Regions where Security Hub runs. 6. Glue Data Quality Added a Generative AI Mode That Writes Rulesets From Table Intent

AWS. A new Advanced mode in AWS Glue Data Quality rule recommendations uses generative AI to infer what a table is for and propose business-relevant rules with full column coverage, returning a ready-to-edit ruleset in seconds rather than requiring hand-authored checks. The intended use is bootstrapping a newly onboarded dataset or establishing baseline checks across a large data lake. Available in 18 Regions across Asia Pacific, Canada, Europe, and the US. Source
