1. SageMaker Unified Studio Adds File-Level Git Control Across All Project Tools

AWS. Amazon SageMaker Unified Studio replaced its previous automatic project-level sync with a file-level Git version control experience that now spans Query Editor, Visual ETL, Workflows, and, for the first time, Notebooks. Users choose which files to track and when to commit, work with multiple repositories and branches at once, and resolve conflicts without leaving the project, while connecting to GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket at any point in a project’s lifecycle. JupyterLab and Code Editor users keep full Git command-line access, and the capability is available in all Regions where Unified Studio runs for both IAM and IAM Identity Center domains. Source

2. Amazon Bedrock Cuts OpenAI GPT-5.6 Prices by Up to 80%

AWS. Effective July 30, 2026, Amazon Bedrock reduced on-demand inference prices for OpenAI’s GPT-5.6 Luna by 80% and GPT-5.6 Terra by 20%, with GPT-5.6 Sol pricing unchanged. Luna targets high-volume workloads with tool use, while Terra handles production workloads that need more sophisticated reasoning, and the cuts apply automatically with no customer action required. The lower cost per completed task lets teams run these models across more applications and larger workloads, with the models accessible through the OpenAI Responses API in three U.S. regions. Source
