AWS AI Updates: June 25, 2026

1. Amazon GuardDuty Adds AI-Powered Investigations in Preview

AWS. Amazon GuardDuty now offers AI-powered investigations in preview, automatically analyzing security findings by examining finding context, related activity from the past 90 days, affected resources, and threat indicators using knowledge graphs and threat intelligence. Each investigation produces a disposition with confidence scores, MITRE ATT&CK technique classifications, supporting evidence, and actionable recommendations for suppression, containment, or remediation, addressing alert fatigue that slows incident response for security teams. The preview is available in 10 AWS regions, including US East, US West, Canada, Europe, and Asia Pacific Tokyo, accessible via the GuardDuty console, CLI, API, and AWS MCP Server. Source

The new instance type enables interactive model testing and fine-tuning of large language models with up to 13 billion parameters, as well as diffusion models for image, video, and audio generation directly within SageMaker notebooks. G6e support is available across seven regions, including US East (N. Virginia and Ohio), US West (Oregon), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), Middle East (Dubai), and Europe (Frankfurt, Sweden, Spain). Source
