Apple AI Updates: November 4, 2026

1. Siri AI Developer Preview Opens App Intents Integration to Every App, Adds Multi-Step “Skills” and Full Spotlight Index Access

Apple opened Siri AI to all developers on November 3 through a Developer Preview in the iOS 27.3, iPadOS 27.3, macOS 27.3 and visionOS 27.3 betas. Any app can now expose its content and actions to Siri AI through App Intents and pick up its personal context understanding, onscreen awareness and natural language handling, so a custom action such as checking a delivery or placing an order runs from a request in the user’s own words. A new skills mechanism lets developers teach Siri AI to chain several actions into one experience, and Siri AI can now surface any entity in the Spotlight semantic index rather than only those matching an existing schema. Per Apple’s documentation as quoted by The Verge, users do not need to name the app while it is in the foreground, during its Live Activity, or in an ongoing Siri AI conversation about it. Apple is rolling the same capabilities into 15 of its own apps, including Mail, Messages, Files, Finder, Photos, Safari and Shortcuts. Customer availability is “a few months” away and App Store submission opens in the spring, with terms and usage policies for Siri AI experiences still to come; Siri AI remains unavailable in the EU on iOS, iPadOS and watchOS, and server-side Apple Intelligence features carry daily usage limits that Apple says will be expandable for a fee in the future. 2. watchOS 27.3 Beta Adds Always-On Audio Intelligence: Siri Recap Conversation Summaries and a 15-Second Live Rewind

Apple added two Audio Intelligence features to the watchOS 27.3 developer beta released November 3, The Verge reports. Live Rewind shows a text transcript of the previous 15 seconds of audio picked up by the Apple Watch microphone on a double-press of the Digital Crown, and users can ask Siri about the text or save it to the Siri app; Siri Recap uses ambient listening to generate a title and key points for a conversation after it ends, stored in the new Siri app. Apple published an Audio Intelligence privacy overview stating that raw audio “is handled within dedicated hardware, is not saved as a file, and is not accessible to the operating system, apps, or Apple.” Source

3. Apple’s Apple Intelligence-Based Health App Returns in the iOS 27.3 Beta With Expanded Language Support

Apple said its redesigned Health app, which it describes as built with Apple Intelligence at its core, is available in the iOS 27.3 developer beta as of November 3 and is expanding language support to global English, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), French, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, Turkish and Vietnamese, ahead of a free software update later this year. The app first appeared in the iOS 27.2 developer beta in September, but Apple’s developer notes at the time said it would not ship in the iOS 27.2 release, MacRumors reported. It adds an Insights tab with running summaries across heart, sleep, readiness, fitness, vitals and cycle tracking, a For You section of recommendations based on daily habits, and a Longevity tab whose Health Age metric turns Apple Watch data such as VO2 max, resting heart rate, sleep and heart rate variability into a comparison with chronological age, optionally enriched with lab results such as A1c and LDL cholesterol. At-home movement evaluations use the iPhone camera and Apple Watch to measure flexibility, strength, balance, movement mechanics and VO2 max with real-time feedback, powered by on-device vision models that Apple says never record, store or share video. The app requires an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad, with some features limited to iPhone; Health Age needs an Apple Watch, the VO2 max test needs an Apple Watch, AirPods Pro 3 or a third-party heart rate sensor, some features require users to be 18 or older, and availability varies by region and language. 4. App Store Will Rate Apps With AI Companions That Engage in Romantic or Sexual Content 18+, Starting November 16

Apple told developers on November 2 that App Store Connect’s age rating questionnaire gains two new content descriptors on November 16, 2026: Shared Location, for sharing real-world location with another person or group, and Dating and Relationships, which covers both dating between real people and “a virtual companion that engages a user in sexual or romantic content.” Apps that declare Dating and Relationships receive a minimum 18+ rating, the declarations are required with any app update or questionnaire change, and every app must complete them by January 12, 2027; in Brazil, local rules set A16 for Shared Location and A18 for Dating and Relationships, with family location-sharing apps able to request an official lower rating from the Ministry of Justice and Public Security. TechCrunch notes the rule reaches AI companion apps such as Character.AI and Replika, including general-purpose apps where companion features are one of many. Source
