Cohere AI Updates: October 22, 2026
1. Cohere Labs Publishes a Crowdsourced Cultural Riddles Benchmark
Cohere. Cohere Labs released a paper and project site (culturalriddles.ai) for an open science benchmark of riddle-style questions on sports, history, and politics, built on Discord by more than 100 contributors from over 50 countries. Cohere reports that tested models often gave plausible but wrong answers, missed culturally specific facts, rarely said “I don’t know”, and showed near-zero knowledge of Buginese. The blog post itself gives no per-model scores; those are in the linked paper. Source
2. Cohere Plans to Add NVIDIA Confidential Bare Metal to Model Vault
Cohere. As part of NVIDIA’s GTC Berlin announcements, Cohere said it plans to integrate NVIDIA Confidential Bare Metal into Cohere Model Vault, using GPU trusted execution environments to protect models and data in memory and across interconnects during inference. The move is aimed at enterprise and sovereign customers who need hardware-rooted guarantees when Cohere models run on third-party infrastructure. No availability date was given. Source
