1. WebSocket Support in Vercel Functions Reaches General Availability

Vercel. WebSocket support in Vercel Functions is now generally available, following a public beta that began in late June. Vercel says its CDN has served 300 million WebSocket connections since the beta and now handles 15 million per day, with customers using them for AI chat, streaming and realtime multiplayer apps. WebSockets also power AI Gateway’s realtime models. Connections follow the same limits and pricing as other Function invocations, and with Active CPU pricing, CPU is billed only while messages are being processed. Source

2. DeepSeek V4.1 Flash Joins Token Pass

Vercel. Token Pass now includes DeepSeek V4.1 Flash, using the latest 1017 weights, alongside Kimi K3 and GLM 5.3, each served through its preferred provider. Token Pass is a $30 per month subscription for Pro teams that grants $80 in monthly credit and runs through AI Gateway, with Zero Data Retention enabled by default. It can be used with coding agents such as Pi, Cline and Command Code, or with custom agents built on the AI SDK. Teams add the model from the Token Pass page in the AI Gateway dashboard. Source
