ElevenLabs AI Updates: October 7, 2026

1. ElevenAgents Added Merge Proposals and Compile-on-Save Procedures

ElevenLabs. Merge proposals, now in alpha, let teams open a proposal from an agent branch, review configuration diffs and test results, leave comments or approvals, and merge into a target branch, backed by eight new API endpoints plus new endpoints for deployment history (current and past branch traffic splits) and test invocation cancellation. Structured procedures now compile and validate automatically when agents are saved or published, and the standalone compile endpoint is marked legacy. The changes bring a pull-request style review workflow to voice agent configuration, which matters for teams running agents in production. Source

2. ElevenAgents Switched Its Default Voice Model to Eleven v4 Turbo and Shipped SDK v2.71.0

ElevenLabs. The agents API added eleven_v4 and eleven_v4_turbo as conversational text-to-speech options and changed the default from eleven_flash_v2 to eleven_v4_turbo, along with new LLM options including gpt-6.1-sol and claude-sonnet-5-5. The JavaScript and Python SDKs moved to v2.71.0 with merge proposal clients, deployment history, and test cancellation, while Swift v3.4.0 preserves native JSON types in dynamic variables and the React, React Native, and widget packages gained transcript editing, attachment previews, and stable response IDs. Agents that rely on the default voice model will change behavior and latency profile unless the model is pinned explicitly. Source
