1. Amazon Cognito Arrives as a Skill in the Agent Toolkit for AWS

AWS. Amazon added an aws-auth skill to the Agent Toolkit for AWS, letting AI coding agents set up, configure, secure, and troubleshoot Amazon Cognito through best-practice workflows. The skill covers user pool configuration, OAuth 2.0 flows, token management, JWT authorizers, and passkey enrollment, so an agent can scaffold authentication without a developer hand-writing the boilerplate. Paired with the AWS MCP Server, the agent executes AWS CLI commands under IAM-based guardrails with CloudTrail audit logging, keeping generated changes inside the same permission and audit boundary as a human operator. 2. Bedrock AgentCore Brings Memory, Policy, and Harness to GovCloud

AWS. Amazon Bedrock AgentCore now supports its memory, policy, and managed harness capabilities in AWS GovCloud (US-West), extending production agent tooling to regulated and government workloads. Memory provides both short-term context for an active conversation and long-term recall across sessions, while policy controls and the managed harness give teams the authorization and runtime scaffolding to move context-aware agents from prototype to production. Landing these features in GovCloud matters for practitioners in public sector and compliance-bound environments who could not previously use AgentCore’s stateful features under their data residency and accreditation requirements.
