1. Amazon Bedrock adds built-in Web Search for OpenAI models

AWS. Amazon Bedrock now offers Web Search as a built-in server-side tool, letting OpenAI models GPT-5.4, GPT-5.5, and GPT-5.6 Sol/Terra/Luna ground responses in current web knowledge without leaving AWS, maintaining data residency with zero data egress. Developers enable it by adding the web search tool to their API call, and Bedrock handles the search lifecycle server-side, returning grounded, cited responses with semantic snippet extraction rather than raw web pages to keep results compact for model context windows. The feature is generally available in US East (N. Virginia and Ohio) and US West (Oregon), removing prior friction from third-party search vendor onboarding, separate API key management, and additional security reviews. Source

2. AWS WAF adds Miggo managed rule groups protecting generative AI application stacks

AWS. AWS WAF now supports two partner-managed rule groups from Miggo Security available through AWS Marketplace, one covering high emerging application threats and a second, AI/ML Application Protection, focused specifically on generative AI application stacks such as AI agent frameworks, LLM gateways, and model-serving infrastructure. Both groups give continuously updated protection against vulnerabilities under active exploitation, those with public proof-of-concept code, or entries in the CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog, without requiring customers to write or maintain custom rules. Customers subscribe to either rule group and attach it to a web ACL directly from the AWS WAF console through AWS Marketplace with no additional configuration, and pricing is set by Miggo rather than AWS.
