AWS AI Updates: July 21, 2026
1. Amazon Connect Adds Agentic Voice With 50+ Languages and 100+ New Voices
AWS. Amazon Connect launched expanded agentic voice capabilities that let AI agents understand, reason, and act across voice and digital channels while adapting to customer tone and sentiment. The update adds support for more than 50 languages (including Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Thai) plus over 100 new voice options, with controls for speech speed, volume, and emotional tone and improved turn-taking to avoid overlapping speech. For contact-center teams, it makes more human-like, globally scalable voice bots viable without the awkward pauses and missed cues typical of robotic systems. Source
2. Amazon CloudWatch Launches Coding Agent Insights for AI Dev-Tool Observability
AWS. Amazon CloudWatch introduced coding agent insights, which integrates with the Claude apps gateway for AWS to automatically collect telemetry from Claude Code, Codex, and GitHub Copilot with no manual instrumentation, surfacing it alongside existing operational data. Engineering leaders can track spending trends, set token-billing alerts, correlate agent adoption with commit throughput and PR velocity, and identify the best cost-to-output models per workload. It gives organizations scaling AI coding tools a way to measure ROI and right-size token budgets, and is available in all AWS commercial regions except UAE, Bahrain, and Tel Aviv. Source
3. AWS Data Exports Adds Standardized Amazon Bedrock Product Metadata
AWS. AWS Data Exports (Cost and Usage Report 2.0) now provides standardized product metadata for Amazon Bedrock, including model provider, model name, pricing unit, inference type, and serving mode (On-Demand vs Batch), all consolidated under a unified Amazon Bedrock product family. This removes the need for FinOps teams to build custom parsing logic to attribute generative-AI spend. The fields are available by default at no extra cost, streamlining cost allocation for teams running foundation-model workloads on Bedrock. Source
