1. Musk Says Grok Bot Costs Are “Unsustainably High” Relative to Revenue After Subscribers Hit Weekly Caps
xAI’s Grok Bot agent costs more to serve than it earns, according to Elon Musk, who wrote on X on Sunday, November 1, that the cost of running it was “unsustainably high relative to revenue.” He made the remark in reply to a user asking whether the weekly usage pool could be reset, after subscribers reported using up their Grok Bot allowances earlier in the week than expected. Grok Bot, launched in early beta in August, carries out complex tasks across applications in its own virtual computer environment; it is sold through paid subscription tiers under the SuperGrok and Cursor brands, with its usage allocated separately from other Grok allowances. Musk gave no cost or revenue figures and did not say whether the weekly limits would change. Source
