1. Meta Shipped Muse, a Personal Agent That Wants Access to Email, Payments, and Health Data

Meta. Muse is a task-executing personal agent that sends emails, books travel, fills out forms, negotiates bills, and handles shopping and scheduling on a user’s behalf. It runs on Muse Spark, Meta’s own model, with requests processed in a dedicated secure virtual environment. Distribution is broad from day one: web at muse.ai, iOS and Android apps, and WhatsApp chats, with Meta’s AI glasses to follow. Pricing is a limited free tier plus $20 per month and $100 per month plans.

The integration surface is the story. Built-in connectors cover email, calendars, payments, health and fitness, smart home, dining, shopping, and music, with Stripe Link handling checkout and Shopify Shop Pay and 1Password connectors planned; users can authorize anything else through APIs or browser access. That is a wider permission grant than any consumer agent has asked for so far, and it lands less than two weeks after Meta’s $18 billion child safety settlement, against a record that includes the 2011 FTC privacy settlement, the $5 billion 2019 FTC penalty, and Cambridge Analytica.
