Meta AI Updates: September 4, 2026

1. Muse Spark 1.3 Leads on Agentic Banking Tasks and Undercuts Rivals on Price

Meta. Muse Spark 1.3 is Meta’s fourth model release in five months. The xhigh tier is available now through Muse Code and Meta’s Model API, while the max variant stays in limited preview with selected partners pending safety testing. Max scores 52% on the tau-cubed-Banking simulated banking benchmark, the top published result, but trails Claude Fable 5.1 on most other tests, including 1,754 against Claude’s 1,853 on GDPval-AA v2. At $0.55 per task it is the cheapest model in its performance class, where comparable options run $0.94 to $1.23. Meta says an open-weights version and larger models are in development. Source

2. Meta’s Contributor Tier Pays a 95% Discount for Prompts and Outputs

Meta. The Muse Spark contributor pricing tier charges 10 cents per million input tokens and 20 cents per million output tokens, against standard rates of $1.25 and $4.25, in exchange for the right to collect user prompts and model outputs for training future versions. The roughly 95% average discount follows Meta’s difficulty sourcing training data, including an employee computer monitoring effort paused after internal backlash in June 2026. Source
