LangChain AI Updates: July 26, 2026
1. Harrison Chase Argues Enterprises Must Own Their Intelligence
LangChain. LangChain co-founder Harrison Chase published an essay arguing that generic AI on its own provides little durable competitive advantage, and that companies should instead control three layers of their agent stack: the agent system itself (model, orchestration logic, and context), the governance around cost, quality, and risk, and the feedback loop that drives continuous improvement. The piece advises buying commodity infrastructure while retaining ownership of the business-specific intelligence that compounds with use and stays portable across models and systems. It frames LangChain’s product direction around helping teams keep that learning loop under their own control rather than outsourcing it to a vendor. Source
