1. Anthropic Cuts Claude Fable 5 Limits and Pushes Pro Users Toward API Pricing

Anthropic. Starting July 20, Anthropic will include Claude Fable 5 in Max and Team Premium plans at only 50 percent of regular limits, and those regular limits themselves drop by 33 percent as the bonus usage phase ends the same day. Pro and Team Standard subscribers effectively lose subscription access to Fable 5, receiving a one-time $100 usage credit before being pushed to standard API pricing. Anthropic said Fable demand has been hard to manage and that it aims to restore the model as a standard subscription feature once capacity allows, a partial reversal of its earlier plan to pull Fable from subscriptions entirely as it faces competition from OpenAI’s cheaper GPT-5.6 Sol.
