1. Meta Hires Senior AWS Executive Dave Brown to Scale Its AI Data Centers

Meta. Meta recruited Dave Brown, one of Amazon Web Services’ most senior computing executives, to help oversee its rapidly expanding network of AI data centers. Brown spent nearly two decades at Amazon overseeing large parts of AWS’s compute, AI, and platform operations, and is expected to report to Meta infrastructure chief Santosh Janardhan. The hire comes as Meta plans to spend between $125 billion and $145 billion in capital this year on servers, networking, power, and facilities for training and running its AI models, fueling speculation the company could eventually offer cloud services to external customers.
