Meta AI Updates: June 8, 2026
1. Meta Prepares Hatch, Its First Paid AI Product
Meta is preparing to launch Hatch, a consumer-facing AI agent that lets users describe tasks in plain language and then builds and executes tools for scheduling, email, and software creation. It is positioned against the premium tiers from OpenAI and Anthropic, with a free tier and a paid Hatch Plus tier offering roughly five to ten times higher usage limits, reportedly priced as high as $200 per month. A U.S. rollout is planned for July 2026, and Meta intends Hatch to underpin forthcoming hardware, including smart glasses with supersensing capabilities slated for 2027. The move marks Meta’s shift from giving away AI features toward charging for an agentic product. Source
