1. Cohere Partners With Singapore’s CSIT to Deploy North and Its Models in Secure On-Premises Environments for National Security Work

Cohere announced a strategic partnership on November 5 with Singapore’s Centre for Strategic Infocomm Technologies (CSIT), which builds cybersecurity and secure digital systems for Singapore’s national security. Under the partnership, CSIT will use Cohere’s models and its agentic AI platform North to deploy AI applications inside highly secure environments. The agreement follows a pilot in which Cohere deployed and operated AI in secure on-premises environments integrated with CSIT’s existing systems and workflows, and the two are now building and evaluating applications for secure knowledge retrieval, automated analysis and report generation, and agentic workflows for national security operations. Cohere lists the capabilities it is supplying as support for fully on-premises and secured deployments, centralized governance of agents, workflows, policies and compliance, integration with existing systems and role-based access controls, interoperability across models, and performance for thousands of users and high-priority workloads. CSIT’s chief of data and AI, Alvin Huang, said CSIT is developing AI-enabled capabilities for Singapore’s digital defence and will work with Cohere on “shaping their platform” for secure use. The release gives no financial terms or timeline. Cohere also says its APAC customer base has grown fivefold over the past year, that it works with Fujitsu, LG CNS and Japan’s Digital Agency in the region, and that it plans to quadruple its regional presence by the end of 2027. The announcement comes two days after Cohere opened a Defence AI Accelerator in Singapore. Source
