1. Facebook Uses LLMs to Let Users Steer Feed and Reels Ranking in Natural Language

Meta. Meta is rolling out “Your algorithm” on Facebook, a space in each post’s three-dot menu where users add and manage topics they want to see more of in Feed and Reels, plus follow-up questions after “Interested” or “Not interested” taps that let users explain preferences in their own words. Meta says large language models now let its ranking systems interpret interests, context, and intent from this freeform text, which is combined with existing behavioral signals such as likes, comments, and watch activity. Recommendations update in real time within the same session.
