1. EU Filing Shows Apple Acqui-Hired Huxe, an AI Audio Startup Founded by Former NotebookLM Developers

Apple. An entry in the EU’s Digital Markets Act transparency database, dated June 9, 2026 and reported on October 9, shows that Apple gained the right to make employment offers to certain employees of Huxe and received a non-exclusive license to Huxe’s intellectual property. Huxe was founded by former Google NotebookLM project lead Raiza Martin, designer Jason Spielman, and engineer Stephen Hughes. Its personalized AI audio app generated daily briefings from email and calendar data and podcast-style conversations on chosen topics, and it shut down on May 28, 2026. Terms and the number of employees joining Apple were not disclosed. Source
