1. Apple’s Probe Guidance Steers Flow Matching Models Without a Second Forward Pass

Apple. Apple researchers introduced probe guidance, which builds a guidance signal for flow matching models out of the frozen internal states of an existing diffusion model. It works on a similar principle to autoguidance but removes the extra forward pass at inference time, and Apple argues it gives a more reliable path to keeping the weak and strong model on similar dynamics. The paper benchmarks the method on continuous diffusion language models. Source
