1. Google Commits $40M in AI Resources to the DOE Genesis Mission

Google. Google pledged $40 million in AI tokens and cloud credits to the Department of Energy’s Genesis Mission, a national effort to use AI to double the pace of American scientific discovery within a decade. The commitment includes Gemini for Government seats for tens of thousands of users across the DOE National Laboratories, plus access to Google’s science AI portfolio spanning AlphaEvolve, AlphaFold 3, AlphaGenome, WeatherNext, and AlphaEarth Foundations. 2. Gemini Expands Across Samsung’s New Galaxy Foldables and Wearables

Google. At Galaxy Unpacked 2026, Google detailed deeper Gemini integration on Samsung’s new Galaxy Z Fold8 and Flip8, expanding task automation to more than 40 popular apps for chores like ordering food and booking travel. Gemini Notebook, the rebranded NotebookLM, ships preinstalled on the foldables to synthesize research into slide decks, videos, and podcasts, bundled with a six-month Google AI Pro trial. Google also brought Gemini to the Galaxy Watch 9 and previewed gesture-controlled smart eyewear from Gentle Monster and Warby Parker arriving in fall 2026. Source
