1. Grok Build goes open-source and usage limits reset

xAI. On July 15, 2026, xAI open-sourced Grok Build, its coding agent tool, and reset usage limits for all users. The company said the reset corrected caching inefficiencies that caused users to hit rate caps faster than they should have, and the open-sourcing followed reports that earlier versions had synced private code repositories to Google Cloud servers without clear user consent.
