1. Microsoft Research Releases Mirage, a Video World Model With Persistent Spatial Memory

Microsoft Research. Researchers at Microsoft, in collaboration with several universities, released Mirage, a video generation system that stores image features directly in a latent-space spatial memory rather than using pixel-based 3D point clouds. The system builds video in segments by reading from and writing to a growing spatial memory cache, filtering out moving objects to preserve stable background geometry across long camera movements. Mirage delivers up to 10.57 times faster generation and up to 55 times less memory consumption than color-based baselines, making spatially coherent long-form video generation substantially more practical.
