Cursor AI Updates: June 6, 2026
1. Cursor SDK Adds Custom Tools, Auto-Review, and Nested Subagents
Cursor. Cursor expanded its SDK so developers can hand the local agent their own tools by passing function definitions, and route tool calls through a classifier for auto-review of safer execution. The update adds nested subagents with independent prompts and models, JSONL and custom stores for persisting agent metadata, and reliability improvements including run correlation and HTTP/1.1 support. The changes give programmatic control over agent behavior beyond skills and hooks. Source
2. Cursor Design Mode Gains Multi-Select and Voice Input
Cursor. Cursor extended its canvas Design Mode with the ability to select two or more elements together in the browser to direct edits across multiple targets at once. The release also adds voice input, letting users narrate changes through the Design Mode overlay rather than typing them. The additions build on the Design Mode introduced earlier in the 3.7 line.
