Perplexity unveiled a system that decides in real time which AI tasks run locally on a user’s PC and which are routed to cloud servers, aiming to cut compute strain and cost while preserving privacy. CEO Aravind Srinivas demonstrated it at Computex in Taipei with Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan, running local models on Intel Core Ultra Series 3 hardware to determine what data stays on-device.
