xAI Updates: May 2, 2026

1. Grok 4.3 Launches With ~40% Input Price Cut and 1M Token Context

xAI. xAI shipped Grok 4.3 broadly with API pricing of $1.25 per million input tokens and $2.50 per million output tokens, roughly a 40% cut on input versus prior generations. Costs double above 200K input tokens, but the model now supports a 1M token context window and adds native video input alongside the existing text and image modalities. xAI is positioning the release as an agentic-workload play — bigger context, lower per-token costs, and improved tool-use reliability for multi-step pipelines. 2. Grok 4.3 Adds Document Generation and a New Voice Cloning Suite

xAI. Alongside the model launch, xAI released a voice cloning suite framed as fast, low-latency, and aggressive on price relative to ElevenLabs. Grok 4.3 itself can now emit downloadable PDFs, populated spreadsheets, and PowerPoint decks directly from chat, with early testers reporting outputs polished enough to forward without manual cleanup. The combination shifts Grok from raw chat-and-search assistant toward an end-to-end document and media production tool, and pulls voice generation under the same xAI billing umbrella. Source
